No doubt you all know about this already, as you're all with your fingers firmly on the Adelaide bike pulse, but just in case it slipped by the radar: there is a swap meet down the sunny south this Sunday.
Sun Nov 28, 8am-12pm
The Bike Station car park, 352 Brighton Rd, Hove
Contact: Facebook, 0412 301 964 to book a table
Looking for the first picture reminded me that I hadn't posted this. I found it at a swap meet in San Fernando, do you think I'm annoyed I didn't buy it?!

Nicky and I doing battle with Max.
Thought it was time for a little update from the dark side of the globe.
It's getting cold over here and as such the play is going indoors, in fact there have been indoor tournaments the last two weekends. The last was in Konstanz, unfortunately I couldn't get there (Halloween in Berlin meant 3x alleycats followed by parties, sometimes polo get relegated), by all accounts it sounded like a great time.
The first was Polomotion in Utrecht, The Netherlands; this one I did have the pleasure of attending. I had the honour of playing there with guys that some of you may remember: Nicky and Chris from Antwerp Fixed.
The tournament was hosted in a hall of one of Europe's largest bike trade fairs: Bike Motion. This meant that we were inside in the warmth, had a steady crowed of interested onlookers all day, and could wander around the halls drooling over all the bike porn between games.
Although there was only one court, each of the 26 teams managed 6 games and finals for the top 8. Unfortunately we, The Antwerp Diamonds, narrowly missed out on making the cut: we reached equal 8th but lost out on goal difference.
Nicky , Chris and Thomas: our most generous host and either a Teddy bear, or Grizzly bear, it was never settled.
Utrecht was a beautiful city, one that has embraced the bicycle more than any other I have visited. Seeing middle class families riding along in convoy was a heartening sight, along with the numerous beautiful women on bikes!
Some of the photos I've stolen from the AFG gents, be sure to check out their write up here.

It's tournament time! Adelaide bike polo is turning two, so it's time for a celebration with a whole weekend of polo!
We'll be having some casual games and fun stuff on the saturday, some wild partying at night, and the official tournament will be on the sunday.
It will be a throw up tournament, so come along even if you have never played before and you'll get teamed up with some experienced players, or just come along anyway and we'll have some pickup games.

I am trying to clear out some of the bits in my bike parts collection. Up for sale is this brand new polo bike made from second hand parts.
Made from quality 1010 crabon steel, (yes, now you can say you have a crabon polo bike!) the frame is of the "step-thru" design from the hippest taiwanese drawing boards. This crotchal safety feature makes unexpected dismounts a breeze or would suit the discerning lady player.
The bike also features a chrome plastic chainstay protector for that bit of bling which is complemented by the original rear wheel reflector for that streetwise peace of mind when you swerve home at night from post polo drinks.
Complete with polo specific "Straight-ND" fork, offset handlebars, dead true alumininminium (i.e. beer cans) rims and 28:19 drive ratio for extra speedy acceleration.
And for a short time this bike will also be offered with a complimentary rear V-Brake so you can also do some skidz.
The bike will be available for test rides at polo each Sunday until sold. Make me an offer!
